This year each school site will have its own competition and chose the date for the event. Poems in Chalk “kits” will be provided to the schools. For the future of this event we are hoping to coordinate a district wide event at IBL, but this year the event will be at each individual school site. Slam poetry classes have been working hard for a semester to put together stage pieces. The open mic is free for everyone to read, while the showcase displays several of the best team pieces from each fifth grade class. Slam poetry is original entertaining stage performance. Bring your family and friends to see a great show. Ages: 9+.
